Time to Plan Out Your Thanksgiving
at the Low-carb Cooks' Nook

You have three weeks to figure out what you're going to do for Thanksgiving!
Some low-carbers say, "To heck with low-carbing, this is Thanksgiving," but many have found that they go off the wagon for that one day... which stretches into weeks, and it's not till January that they can get back on track and by then,
they've gained ten lbs. !
Isn't there a way to make your traditional Thanksgiving in a low- carb way?
YES, THERE IS!

At this week's chat, we'll start planning our Low-carb Thanksgiving menus and share recipes for side dishes, stuffing, vegetables, and the like.

Oktoberfest is a FOOD-oriented holiday!

The traditional foods are sturdy, heavy, German, fall-harvest foods ~ sausages and brats of all types, hams, sauerkraut, chicken-on-a-spit, cabbage, potatoes, rich dairy like German cheeses and heavy cream, strudels and chocolate desserts "mitt schlag" (with heavy whipped cream!), and of course, German beers and wines.

If you're interested in information on getting in on the next shipment of Liquid Splenda to go with those recipes, write to me for info.

Can you do it low-carb? OF COURSE!

Most of what's on that list is totally LC, and the items that aren't, there are LC ways around it, if you're willing to cook!

Do you have a sweet tooth and your Comfort Foods are all sweet ones?
If so, have you thought about getting LIQUID Splenda? It's super-concentrated with no fillers and so it's carb-free. Well, how bad IS it? If you're digging or swimming out of a massive hurricane like Katrina, if you're roofless or homeless, if you're snowed in and the power is out, then survival *now* is your #1 priority & you have bigger problems to deal with than carbs.

But can you PREPARE AHEAD FOR EMERGENCIES?

Be it EARTHQUAKE (where F00D Angel lives)... HURRICANE (where FOOD Magic lives)... BLIZZARD... TORNADO... FLOOD... FIRE... MUDSLIDE... TSUNAMI... or any kind of disaster...
HOW DO YOU PREPARE?

The first time we talked about this topic was the fall of 1999 and the subject was

"What IF y2K is a disaster!?!?!

Thankfully, things turned out fine, but there was a lesson there...

The last two years here, things weren't as bad as The Weather Channel thought, but who knows what we have ahead of us?

No matter where you live, there is some kind of weather disaster that can occur...

BUT THE PREPS ARE THE SAME:
Food that stays without refrigeration.

water supplies.

how-to-cook-without-power.

portable potables.

If it's at all possible, stay on your WOE... you will feel better & stronger, and be better able to deal with the stresses.

SO don't forget batteries, remember to pack your cooler, hunker down...
